Easy Apple Crisp

Craving a taste of autumn? Look no further than this easy-to-make apple crisp. Sweet, tangy, and perfectly comforting. Pour your topping over the apples and it's ready to bake!

Serves 6


Ingredients:


Spiced Apples:

  • 5-6 gala apples, peeled and chopped

  • 2 Tablespoons white sugar

  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1½ teaspoons lemon juice


Crisp Topping:

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 3/4 cup old fashioned rolled oats

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into cubes


Directions:


1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease an 8x8 baking dish, ; set aside.

2. In a mixing bowl, add apples, sugar, 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir to combine, then transfer to the baking dish.


3. In a separate mixing bowl, add the brown sugar, oats, flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, salt and butter. Use a pastry cutter or a fork to combine the mixture until crumbly (the butter should resemble pea-sized crumbs).


4. Spread topping over apples and gently pat to even it out. Bake 40-50 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly. Enjoy!
